Club Service |

The roots of Rotary are professional men and women gathered together in fellowship making a difference in their community and the world. Club Service is one of the four Rotary Avenues of Service. This avenue of service is focused on supporting the fellowship of Rotary in our local club. We are chartered to support the ongoing operations of the club.

A variety of committees are responsible for assisting the President in running the weekly meeting. The speaker committee identifies and invites the weekly guest speaker. Other committees identify greeters, invocation speakers, pledge leaders, and managers of the weekly raffle.

The club newsletter is a key ingredient to a successful and well and informed club. The Orange Peel is published on a weekly basis. It highlights weekly programs, informs members of the current events and is a friendly reminder of individuals' club responsibilities. Last year the newsletter was recognized as the best in our district.

Club social events are key components to the Orangevale club. Club social events usually happen quarterly. These events create an atmosphere of friendship and informality. They are an exciting opportunity for non-Rotarians to participate in the Rotary world. Overall the events bring all members closer to form a more cohesive group. The five major social events are District Governor Dinner, Mystery Trip, Christmas Party, Anniversary Party, and Demotion Dinner. |

Club Fundraisers help us support our local and international Rotary programs. We have several different kinds of fundraisers to appeal to our community. In the fall we sponsor a country western barbecue and auction. In the winter we sell Entertainment books. In the spring we have a Hawaii raffle, and garage sale. In the summer we sponsor a fireworks booth with our local Boy Scout troop. |

The District Display is a group effort to promote our club accomplishments at the annual District Conference. It focuses on all avenues of service and gives our fellow Rotarians a visual presentation of who we are and what we are about. |

We have been very fortunate to receive the best display for a medium size club twice in the last four years. |
